Description

Abstract
"This objectives of this current project are tree-fold. First, it aims to develop the integrated aquaculture techniques of adopting water originated from multiple stages of temperature and nutrition. Second this project helps to introduce the cool water to the local aquaculture businesses. Third, it also collects the basic information on marine life and environment in Taiwan critical to start up the fish culturing. The information collected by this project includes not only the specifications on culturing species, but includes the environment and water conditions, fish diseases, rate of survival, marketing channels and so on. This laborious information gathering is expected to construct a data set that contains full specifications and techniques from roe hatching to harvesting. The outcome of this project will be available to a typical aquaculture business to select the right culturing species, to lower its operational risks and to establish and evaluate its own critical technology knowhow when it plan to initiate a culturing project of adopting sea water. On the other hand, due to the scarcity of water, the multiple purposes of its adoption are highly recommended. An appropriate culturing plan of its adoption, therefore, should include the use of water from multiple stages of temperature and nutrition. Accompanied with the potential culturing species and the right water land resources, the plan will generate higher revenue and lower the concern on the contaminated water emission. Moreover, the appropriate culturing plan can be designed to address the value-add issue as well. For example, it can be framed as an integrated culturing ecological system by waters from different temperature gradients. We hope to complete an efficient business model by constructing such an integrated ecological system, and finding the right density and mixtures, while evaluating its cost-benefit analysis."
