"所提出的計畫將進行螺槳尾跡流幾何的研究，並以此發展一具有自由尾跡流模式的定常流與非定常流螺槳邊界元素法。因此，所提之兩年計畫，瞭解不同狀況下螺槳尾跡流的幾何形狀是最重要的關鍵。第一年將修改目前的螺槳定常流與非定常流邊界元素法，對尾跡流的形狀將應用計算方法獲得。第二年則將應用黏性流的計算方法獲得螺槳尾跡流形狀，並根據計算結果修正第一年的邊界元素法。第一年研究重點在於發展一高效率邊界元素法計算誘導速度的方法以及建立邊界元素法中螺槳尾跡流的幾何成形方法。我們將應用Biot-Savart’s Law 計算誘導速度，並以B-Spline 定義尾跡流幾何，再選擇特定的點進行誘導速度的計算，以決定B-Spline 控制點的變動方向建立尾跡流幾何。第二年的研究將直接利用黏性流RANS 方法進行螺槳計算，進行探討的計算狀況為不同前進係數，不同斜入流角度，以及不同型態的螺槳。不同型態的螺槳包含傳統螺槳，具端板效應螺槳與跨速度域螺槳。此次提出計畫的成果完成可以提供發展一精確的非定常流體積力方法，從而計算波浪中螺槳性能，船舶航行操縱時螺槳效應等。" "The proposed project will investigate the propeller wake geometry, and develop steady flow and unsteady flow propeller boundary element methods (BEM) with a free wake model. In this proposed two-year project, the key point is to understand the propeller wake geometries at different operating conditions. In the first year, we will modify the existing steady and unsteady flow boundary element methods, such that the wake geometries are obtained by computations. In the second year, the viscous flow RANS method will be used to compute the propeller flow field, and capture the wake geometry. The computational results will be used to correct the wake model in the boundary element method. The main research topics in the first year will be: first to establish a very efficient computational method for the induced velocities in the BEM, and secondly to develop an algorithm to define the wake geometry. The Biot-Savart’s Law is proposed to compute the induced velocities, and the B-Spline will be used to define the wake geometry. The free wake model is then established by computing the induced velocities at certain locations in the wake, and then moving the B-Spline control points based on these velocities. The conditions of RANS computations in the second year will include different advanced coefficients, different inclined inflow angles and different propeller types. The different propeller types are conventional propeller, end-plate effect propellers and Trans-Velocity propeller (TVP). An accurate unsteady body force method is expected to be implemented based on the achievements of this project, and we can then carry on the propeller force computations in waves and in ship maneuvering."
