Description

Abstract
國立臺灣海洋大學水生動物實驗中心於2010、2011兩年獲國科會補助後發揮相當功能,迄今已具相當規模,備受學術界肯定。以教學為主體的實習場所轉型成具有支援學術團體多樣性水生動物種類、體型、數量供應需求的平台 – 水生動物資源中心;實須加強本中心的軟硬體設施。欲強化支援能力首先要建立、確保、控制並維護種魚(蝦)的品系,才能永續供應優質健康的生體研究材料,以滿足學術發展之所需。如何運用有限空間資源利用現有種魚建立有系統的資料庫將決定經營的成效。而種魚池的管理勢必左右生產績效,因此改進循環水過濾效率利用現有設施改進裝置設計以期提高種魚品質確保育孕優良子代亦為改善營運的重點之一。運用寵物晶片植入大型種魚,可有效追蹤控管記錄混養於同一水池中不同種類的每隻單一個體,有效解決育種空間的問題,希望能逐步為爾後產業提升競爭力。本中心除了日常供應的食用種類如蝦類、鯛類、石斑類外,更試圖開發繁殖具高價值的小丑魚,既有生產潛力並兼具研究、教育及娛樂功能。此外整個中心只有建制及兼任人員各一名,其於所有人力資源組成全部來自本(水產養殖)學系學生,年年學生流出流入漸次更新,由是專業素質的提升與責任感的培養與日俱增(育教於實做),是未來養殖界棟樑。網站平台創立迄今二年餘瀏覽人次已逾十萬人次,提供線上資訊教育及服務功能;未來擴充平台廣度及深度以便發揮更多功能。 The Aquatic Animal Center (AAC) of National Taiwan Ocean University had executed substantial function updated with sizable scale and been confirmed by many academic groups after receiving two years of funding from NSC during 2010 to 2011. A derived function of the formerly pure practical training place as its new title “The Aquatic Animal Resources Center” to supply “aqua-live-animal” of various species and sizes to the research groups, AAC needs to improve its own hardware as well as software in order to fit its research backup function. Brood stock management is exclusively the key that warrantees the sustainable supply of the live-organisms for research purpose. The establishment of a systematic database of the current brood stocks of various species challenges the encountering problem in short of space. Consequently, improvement of the quality of brood stock and their gametes produced requires highly efficient recirculation system. Implantation of transmitted tag into individual brood stock succumbs and resolves the space problem in preservation, observation and recording of developed strains and breeding lines of interested. In addition to the edible species such as shrimps, sea breams and groupers, effort on the reproduction induction of the various kinds of valued anemone fishes for seed production has been deeply involved. Training students becoming skillful personnel and ready for the recruit opportunities in aquaculture industry is a side function of AAC through operation progress. ACC internet server platform provides instant information services both in education and practical affairs. In the near future, more data will be updated to this information platform to cover more species with detailed description on the associated knowledge background such as taxonomy, physiology, behavior ecology, reproduction, nutrition, disease, etc.
