本計畫擬就台灣周邊水域之飛魚/飛魚卵資源進行漁期、漁場及相關環境資料之調查收集，利用作業報表與衛星水文資料進行詳細的檢視與分析，瞭解漁場動態及年別差異外，也將持續其他優勢魚種之資源生物學研究，並配合作業報表之修改與樣本船觀測，收集船隻作業與成本資訊，了解漁獲收益及漁期長短之變動；也將依據VDR資料，進行作業實況與漁獲資料填報誤差之初步評估，提供漁政單位做為管理策略調整之參考依據，並期逐年逐步建立台灣周邊水域產卵飛魚群之資源生物資料庫，做為本資源未來生態漁業管理之重要依據 This research aims to examine the fishing season, fishing grounds and its associated environmental factors of the flying fishes and/or their eggs in coastal waters of Taiwan. The logbooks in combination with environmental factors will be collected and examined in details for understanding the dynamics of the fishing grounds and its annual variations. The fisheries biology of the dominant species will be collected continuously. And, the cost and revenue analyses and annual variations in fishing seasons for the fishery will also be studied based on the new designed logbook and data collected by sampling vessels. The voyage distance recorder (VDR) data will also be used to crosscheck the accuracy of the logbook reports, and provide bases for the adjustment of management strategy by administrator. The biological database for flying fish and their egg resources will then be established and used for future management of these resources in Taiwan.
