Abstract
台灣灘屬於太平洋邊緣海域,受黑潮海流影響。實際上,根據之前的研究,台灣灘東南方湧升區冷水湧升的機制在夏季比我們想像的更複雜。在冬季,吹過該區域的東北季風導致強冷水從下層水團湧升到上層。研究船於2018年8月1日至3日調查,台灣灘湧升區周圍的溫度數據顯示像一香蕉形狀低溫區。MITgcm數值模式模擬結果顯示位於上方的湧升冷水及其形狀與該海研三號研究船測量的溫度分佈一致。根據歷史數據,冬季出現的上升強度比夏季更嚴重。在冬季,該地區的冷水上湧較單純可能是亞洲東北季風所造成的,但夏季可能會更為複雜,這可能是由於潮汐、當地地形、西南季風和黑潮入侵造成的。由於全球變暖,西風減弱導致黑潮流量減少,這可能會影響台灣灘湧升區周圍的上升流強度,無論是否會導致上升流量增加或減少。總之,需要對台灣灘湧升區的生態環境進行研究,以了解對該系統的影響。Taiwan Bank belongs to the adjacent marginal sea of the Pacific Ocean, and it is affected by the branch Kuroshio Current. Actually, according to the previous study, the mechanisms of the cold water upwelling off southeastern Taiwan bank zone are more complicated than that of our imagination in the summertime. In winter, the northeasterly monsoon blowing over the district leads to the intensely cold water upwelling from the lower water mass to the upper layer. The research vessel surveys on August 1-3, 2018 that the temperature data around the Taiwan Bank zone show a banana-shaped low-temperature area. The MITgcm model result reveals the upwelled cold water in location and shape consistent with the temperature distribution of this vessel survey. According to historical data, the occurring upwelling strength in winter is more severe than in summer. In winter, the cold water upwelling in the zone is simply caused by the Asian northeasterly monsoon. Still, it could be more complicated in summer, which could be resulted from tides, local topography, southwesterly monsoon, and Kuroshio invasion. As a result of the global warming, the weakening westerly wind leads to the Kuroshio flux decreasing. That could affect the upwelling strength around the Taiwan Bank, whether it could lead to increasing or decreasing upwelling. In a word, it needs going through the study of the ecosystem environment of Taiwan Bank to realize the impacts of this system.
