" 雖然Tsai et al. (2003)認為海象不良為瘋狗浪事件發生之條件之一，但最近於基隆附近海岸有些事件發生時，其海象並不很惡劣，因此本計畫擬從基隆附近已測之波浪資料找尋示性波高在1 至3 米時特異波高之發生機率。另Longuet-Higgins and Drazen (2002)在實驗室證明尖銳度夠大之規則波在直立壁前有三連波不穩定現象，其在直立壁前每三個波會有一較大的波峰並有上射水柱，其可能與瘋狗浪有關。本計畫也擬尋找可能在岸邊出現此現象之三連波之發生機率。並找出發生機率與示性波高、相連波高之相關係數、波浪尖銳度與波譜尖銳度的關係。 "
