東海為亞洲三大邊緣海之ㄧ，為我國傳統重要漁場之ㄧ。本海域在黑潮與大陸沿岸冷水團兩種不同性質水團之勢力消長及相互推移下﹐造成海洋環境之溫度､鹽度､營養鹽等生物地化通量的變化﹐這些特性可以透過衛星遙測資訊作廣視之解明﹐作為海洋生態動力特性與海洋理化通量資訊比對之訊息。又在海洋變動之同時﹐仔稚魚生物量及分佈與漁業資源亦隨之有大中小尺度之時空間變動﹐而如何迅速擷取仔稚魚生時(real time)與漁業資源資訊，以配合海洋理化特性之解明是極其重要的。其中光波遙測法之衛星資料已可進行自動化線上(on line)處理，如能配合現場採集之種類判識與量測及漁業資源調查，應是評估仔稚魚生物量、分布及漁業資源之最佳利器。因而，本計畫擬配合總計劃:河川與大氣輸送物質對生物地球化學作用之影響，於東海海域以三年(2006/08~2009/07)時間利用光波遙測配合現場生物採集與儀器觀測，解明長江水豐水與枯水期間之仔稚魚種類組成及時空分布與結構特性，及由現場量測之海洋理化特性與衛星之廣視遙測資訊，判析仔稚魚生物量、分布與環境因子間的關係，並透過本海域重要漁業(鎖管)資源調查，協助了解河川流量及物質輸出通量的改變對東海海洋生物地球化學循環與生態系食物網功能以及漁業資源的影響，及東海海洋生物地球化學環流數值模式與海洋生態系食物網模式的建立。前二年(2006~2007)初步成果已證實冬季水溫鋒面位置之變動特性(GRL, 2006)與葉綠素濃度之關係(submitted to IJRS)、浮游動物之季節特性 (ICES, 2008)與溫度鋒面之區隔下之仔稚魚群集特性(台灣水產學會刊, 2007)。The East China Sea was one of the important fishing grounds in the offshore sea of Taiwan. As the Coastal waters of Mainland and Taiwan strait warm water meet with the Kuroshio in this area, these changes of physical, chemical and biological oceanography could have profound impacts on the marine phenomena that are important to biology, ecology and dynamic carbon transformation here. In addition, this river discharge of Yang-zi River may play an important role in primary production due to the nutrient-rich fresh water to this area, subsequently enhancing larvae and fishery production. However, the Dam of Yang-zi River will operate since 2009, and then affect the regulation of the discharge. Right now, no one can understand the impact to marine ecosystem. Generally, zooplankton and larval fish may be served as the key point of marine dynamics or grazing food chain. Studying and monitoring on the interaction of environmental factors and the concentration of zooplankton, larval fish and species composition may provide data for the predicted ability of fishery oceanography and carbon dynamic. In 1994 GLOBEC suggested acoustic techniques were used to evaluate the size and aggregation structure of plankton, while the remotely sensed data conducted from the satellite and acoustic system, have expanded widely on the relationship of abundance and environmental variables over the last decade. The major purpose of this project are established in an investigative work based on biological and acoustic surveys with satellite data aiming at the assessment of abundance and distribution of larval fish and commercial fishery resources in the East China Sea. In the first two year, the variation of winter sst front and zooplankton abundance with biodiversity were published in journal GRL and zoological studies, respectively, and its link with the chlorophyll concentration was also submitted to IJRS journal. For the further understanding and evaluating the impact of Yang-zi river discharge to biogeochemical flux, grazing food chain with fishery resources and associated with the environment in this water would be to add in next coming year.
