First Record of the Thalassinidean Genus Callianopsis De Saint Laurent, 1973 (Decapoda, Ctenochelidae) in the West Pacific, With the Description of a New Species from Taiwan

Abstract

Callianopsis anovalissp. nov. is described from a specimen collected by a deep-sea commercialtrawler off northeastern Taiwan at around 300 m deep. The new species is unique in the genus bylacking a dorsal oval on the carapace. The genusCallianopsisDe Saint Laurent, 1973 is recordedhereby for the first time in the western Pacific.
