Description

Abstract
The current project will develop a radial-like measure in data envelopment analysis (DEA) when (some) input/output data are negative for decision making units (DMUs). The proposed approach improves the existing semi-oriented radial measure (SORM) by not miscalculating DMUs’ efficiency scores as zero or unbounded. The proposed approach identifies the real efficient frontier when negative data are present. The newly developed models behave just like the standard variable returns to scale DEA model without the need for moving the data origin. Super-efficiencies for negative data and the problem of infeasibility will also be investigated in this project. We will develop a radial-like model to measure the super-efficiencies for negative data."
