Description

Abstract
"在電腦圖學與視覺化的領域中,地理資訊系統一直是熱門的研究主題,過去許多研究將不同的資訊透過主題式地圖的方式作呈現,主題式地圖能夠將特定主題呈現在地圖上。本計畫以主題式地圖為基礎並結合其它資訊來產生時空資料視覺化之呈現平台,既能夠從地圖視野與資訊視覺化兩個重要的因素,呈現出使用者需要的時空資訊,並可依不同的地圖比例尺,呈現多樣性的資料。更進一步地,可結合該行政區的特色景點,以幫助旅遊者或使用者能夠快速地與有效率地選擇出合適的推薦旅遊行程。在本次二年期計畫中,主題式地圖之主要研究核心由以下幾項組成。 (1) 提出一種以二維靜態呈現之拼圖式磚塊地圖,可在地理位置中且結合其時序性資料來呈現。將透過地理位置資訊與區域方向性等因素,將磚塊進行佈局最佳化,使其自動地生成磚塊地圖,且能夠最有效地符合行政區的地理位置,並在磚塊裡放置小拼圖來產生時空資料視覺化圖像。 (2) 以路網形變與樹狀結構製圖為基礎,進而開發一套區域路網的視覺化佈局;透過該區域裡特色景點之地理位置與真實道路路網來設計一套最佳化演算法,其中產生面積的大小可以有效地呈現該區域內的特色景點。 (3) 將針對觀光客在旅行中感興趣的影響因子,來產生合適的興趣點之視覺化介面。更進一步地,可結合磚塊地圖與樹狀結構路網的概念,在不同的地圖觀點,以不同的視覺化方法,呈現地圖中的時空(Spatial-temporal)資訊,並結合當地特色之觀光產業,呈現一系列自動生成的主題式導覽地圖,可依旅行者由縣市->區域->景點的角度,循序漸進地規劃出完整的行程。 此計畫預計在第一年(2019/8/1~2020/7/31)建構出拼圖式磚塊地圖的視覺化系統,第二年(2020/8/1~2021/7/31)建構出樹狀結構路網佈局與旅遊導覽系統。""In the area of computer graphics and visualization, geographic information system (GIS) has always been a hot research topic. In the past, many studies have presented different data visualizations through thematic maps, which can present specific topics on the map. Therefore, a thematic map can be combined with other information to generate a representation for visualizing spatial-temporal data. According to the map viewpoint and data information, we will develop a robust visualization platform that allows users can create different thematic maps for viewing diverse spatial-temporal data information. Furthermore, we will also create a travel guide visualization to support the tourists or users to quickly and efficiently select the appropriately recommended travel itineraries. In this two-year plan, the main research focuses are described by the following components. (i) The automatic generation of a tile map which is composed of puzzle tiles will be proposed for spatial-temporal data visualization. A puzzle tile is an extension of a standard square tile, in while a sequence of connected and directional pieces in a puzzle tile is used to represent time-varying quantities in that geographic region. To generate a puzzle tile map, the proposed method includes algorithms for optimizing a district-to-tile mapping according to not only the geographic positions but also the region orientations and for placing puzzle pieces in a tile. (ii) Based on the road network deformation and tree map drawing, we will develop a visual layout of the regional road network and design an optimized algorithm according to the geographic location of the scenic spots and the real road network in the region, so that the size of the resulting area can effectively represent the featured attractions within the area. (iii) A visual interface for the points of interest will be generated according to the tourists' interest in a trip. Moreover, the concepts of tile and tree maps can be combined with the characteristics of a sightseeing tour to represent spatial-temporal information on a map. A series of automatically generated theme tour maps can be used to plan the full itineraries from the various perspectives. The project is expected to construct a visualization system of puzzle tile map in the first year (2019/8/1~2020/7/31), and build the tree map layout of road network and travel guide visualization system in the second year (2020/8/1~2021/7/31)."
