Description

Abstract
Grouper is a popular and high price fish among cultured species in Taiwan, Mainland China, Hongkong and southern Asia. Trash fish and powder feed are fed the fish by farmers, which caused the contamination of water quality and sanitary problem of consumer. Using a complete artificial feed can reduce the sanitary problem, improve environment and decrease the capital of wages and feed. It was reported that protein requirement of grouper is 50%,optimal carbohydrate supplement is 20% and lipid supplement is low among cultured carnivores fish. The study is designed to understand wither the high protein requirement is contributed to energy source instead of growth, which will help us to decrease the level of high quality fish protein in grouper feed.
