Description

Abstract
This study investigate the feasibility of using electric arc furnace slag (EAFS) to replace part of natural coarse aggregates in self-compacting concrete and check the performances for these mixes. Due to the nature of EAFS, the self-compacting concrete made with it can achieve multiple goals such as low cost, environmental friendly, recovery from waste and sustainable use. Three parts are included in this study: (1) to investigate the self-compacting capability and flowability for self -compacting concretes made by various replacement percenatges of coarse aggregate by EAFS; (2) to study the mechanic properties, such as compressive strength and splitting tensile strength, for self-compacting concretes at different ages; (3) to study the length change, Wenner’s four probe resistivity and repid chloride penetration test (RCPT) values for self-compacting concretes.
