由第一年劃成果已知屏東地區產之織紋螺、玉螺和台灣鳳螺皆含有毒性,其中主要毒成分為河魨毒(Terodotoxin),次要毒成分為麻痺性貝毒(Paralytic shellfish poisons),為知這些肉食性螺貝類蓄積海洋生物之來源,本年度乃探討屏東地區沿岸海底底棲生物之毒性資料,由船撈捕獲之沿岸底棲生物中,經生物毒性試驗發現一種海星Astropecten scoparius具有毒性,進而每月自屏東沿岸海域採集該海星,檢測其毒性和毒成分,發現此種海星之個體毒性,若以河魨劑量來計算,最高值為5,938老鼠單位(Mouse units,MU),平均毒性為個體1,679MU,內臟133MU/g和其他部位99MU/g。毒成分經由醋酸甲醇溶液抽出,再經脫脂、超過濾和Bio-Gel P-2管柱層析等過程精製純化而得粗毒,此粗毒經薄層分析,電泳分析,高性能液態層析儀分析,UV光譜分析,及氣相層析儀與質譜儀分析,得知海星粗毒含有河魨毒(Tetrodotoxin)和脫羥河魨毒(Anhydrotetrodotoxin)存在。< To elucidate the food chain of tetrodotoxin (TTX) in several gastropods containing TTX, the toxicity of marine animals inhabiting in the coastal waters of southern Taiwan was undertaken to examine. It was found that a starfish Astropecten scoparius showed lethal potency. Hence, paralytic toxicity was seasonally detected in every 10 specimens of the starfish A, scoparius from Pingtung in Taiwan from December 1995 to November 1996. The highest toxicity of specimen, expressed as tetrodotoxin (TTX), was 5,938 mouse unit (MU). The average toxicity of specimen was 1,679MU and the respective toxicity was 133 and 99MU g/sup -1/ in viscera and other parts. The toxin was partially purified by YM-2 membrane ultrafiltration and Bio-Gel P-2 column chromatography. TLC, electrophoresis, HPLC, UV spectrum and GC-MS analyses showed that the starfish toxin was composed of tetrodotoxin and anhydrotetrodotoxin.<
