Description

Abstract
"水產養殖業農業生技是「台灣生技起飛(六大新興產業佈局)」的重要一環,且台灣四面環海是一個海洋國家,海洋資源豐富,水產養殖技術為世界領先,世界各國無不重視海洋與水產的生物科技之研究。海洋生物多樣性與海洋生物資源日益減少及環境生態問題,造成水產與海洋生物及相關生物科技面臨瓶頸與問題,為著海洋生物資源之永續發展,實有賴投入更多高品質的水產生物科技進行基礎與應用研究。 海洋大學長期致力於水產及海洋生物的生物科技研究,本校教師在海洋生物科技教學、人才培育及研究表現優異且最具全國之特色,由於在水產與海洋生物科技領域教學與研究之卓越性及特色。本校於民國95-99年榮獲「教育部發展國際一流大學及頂尖研究中心計畫」,於民國95年正式設立「水產生物科技頂尖研究中心」,積極從事水產與海洋生物科技及生態的研究,並建立完善管理制度之「研究中心核心儀器設施」。 本校未來預計更以積極及整合性及團隊方式,並以基因體、蛋白質體與代謝體的策略進行海洋生物科技的前瞻基礎與應用的研究,研究領域包括1水生生物2生理與環境適應3疾病防禦4水域分子生態5水產資源開發利用。所探討的課題包括1利用高科技解決水產養殖的瓶頸問題2極端環境生物適應及海洋生物之研究3海洋分子生物生態研究4台灣沿岸頭足類(鎖管)生物資源與生態之研究。基於從事海洋生物生態及相關海洋生物科技之研究及人才培育,本學院擬申請增購「超高速基因體定序儀」、「基質輔助雷射脫附游離飛行時間串連式質譜儀」及「胺基酸分析儀」,以進一步充實儀器設施,並由「研究中心核心設施」來進行妥善管理、維護及教育訓練,申請增購儀器所需費用共計39,904,000元,其中19,904,000元由本校配合款補助。" Agriculture and aquaculture biotechnology is one of the impotant items for the recent national plan for the biotechnology in research and industry. Aquatic resources in marine and freshwater, aquatic biology, aquatic ecology are all very important to in Taiwan and other countries. We have the best biodiversity in both marine and freshwater as compared to other countries. Our techniques and industry in aquaculture production in Taiwan is the best and most advance in the world. National Taiwan Ocean University (NTOU) has been devoted to aquatic biology and biotechnology for long time and we performed outstandingly. NTOU was ranked as the best in the research area for the aquatic resources. We have been granting by the Ministry of Education with a special bulk fund to promote the aquatic and marine biosciences during the period of 2006-2010. Therefore, we had established an center of excellence for the Marine Bioscience and Biotechnology since 2006. NTOU have successfully promote the academic research in basic and applied aspects, the education of graduate students. Furthermore, we established the core facilities for the aquatic bioscience and biotechnology. To further promote the research in the marine bioscience and biotechnology in our College of Life Sciences and related departments, we would like to further focus on the areas of functional genomics and proteomics in the future. Therefore, we would like to apply the supports from the National Science Council with the research equipments with “Genomine Sequencer”, “MALDI TOFTOF Mass Spectrometry System” and Amino acid analyzer” (total budget: 39,904,000 dollars) to enhance our research capacity. Our university will also support this application with matching funds (19,904,000 dollars). Our facility will take good care and maintain in the good condition for the effective usage by the professors and students.
