Description

Abstract
"先前本計畫調查發現龜山島海域海底熱泉對浮游動物生態產生重大影響,其中橈足類 之 Temora Turbinata 為海底熱泉區之主要物種,其豐度可佔總浮游動物生物量 90%以上, 是何種因素使 Temora Turbinata 成為龜山島海底熱泉區之機會種生物(opportunistic species),本計畫擬持續上一年計畫,調查研究龜山島海域浮游動物尤其是橈足類生物對 微量元素蓄積能力之研究,與海底熱泉對浮游動物生態影響更進一步瞭解。本計畫擬在 龜山島附近海域設定六個測站,採取海水中浮游動物樣品與海水,並挑選主要優勢種之 橈足類浮游動物樣品分析其微量金屬元素(Ag、Al、As、Ba、Bi、Cd、Co、Cr、Cs、Cu、 Fe、Mn、Ni、Rb、Pb、Sr、Zn、Se、Hg)濃度,調查研究在有海底熱泉之自然海域環境 中,不同物種之橈足類浮游動物對微量金屬元素之累積能力與喜好,並探討龜山島海底 熱泉之影響範圍與對橈足類浮游動物生態影嚮。""The preliminary study found that the hydrothermal vent of the Kueishantao islet had a significant impact on zooplankton ecology in marine environment of the Kueishantao islet. A substantial abundance, but with less copepod diversity was recorded in the seawater around the hydrothermal vent area. Temora turbinata was the opportunity species under the hydrothermal vent influence. We are curious to know what mechanisms influencing the zooplankton ecology in marine environment of the Kueishantao islet. This project will continue to investigate the trace elements contents in copepods and study the ecological variation of copepods around the marine environment of the Kueishantao islet. This project will collect seawater and copepod samples in marine environment around the Kueishantao islet and study the accumulation ability of trace elements (Ag、Al、As、Ba、Bi、Cd、Co、 Cr、Cs、Cu、Fe、Mn、Ni、Rb、Pb、Sr、Zn、Se、Hg) by means of determining trace elements concentrations in dissolved and particulate phases of seawater and in dominant species of copepods. The determination of trace elements in the collected copepod samples will be analyzed by ICP-MS prior to digestion by HNO3-HCl acid in the water bath. The concentrations of trace elements in seawater and particulate samples are also analyzed by ICP-MS after pre-concentration. The analyzed results can help us to understand the bioaccumulation ability of trace elements by marine copepods and to evaluate the ecological system of copepods under the influence of the hydrothermal vent input."
