Description

Abstract
"台灣西南沿海每到冬至前後會有大批烏魚沿著大陸沿岸流南下至台灣西部海域進行適溫產卵 洄游,為我國西部海域冬季最重要的經濟魚種之一。近年來利用分子生物技術已經將整個西 北太平洋分成三個隱匿種 (NWP1-3),這三個種的烏魚雖共存於台灣周圍海域,但彼此間在 長期的演化作用下已經產生了產卵時間及地點的隔離。過去本團隊結合分子生物技術、漁業 生物學及耳石生態地化分析,相較於傳統漁業僅瞭解冬至南下洄游產卵的烏魚外,已逐步解 析台灣周邊海域三個隱蔽種之成熟烏魚的時空分布、成熟烏魚的年齡組成及成長差異,以及 淡水河中烏魚成魚的洄游環境史。本計劃將繼續探討烏魚稚魚之河口入添動態,對三種烏魚 魚苗的種類分布、產卵場及入添年間動態做深入研究。同時利用耳石的日周輪資訊及地球化 學分析結果,希望能進一步瞭解不同種類烏魚的產卵場及魚苗河口入添動態做深入研究。包 含下列研究項目; (一) 分析年間河口烏魚苗的種類組成及魚苗入添動態, (二) 配合雷射剝離技術微區分析耳石微量元素,解析烏魚初期生活環境史之種間差異, (三) 結合年間之海況資料以解析烏魚入添動態之年間變動模式。" "Mullet is one of the most important fisheries species in Taiwan. They migrate southward to Taiwan Strait for spawning in winter. Recent years, research applying bio-techniques have successfully revealed three cryptic mullet species that coexist in Taiwan coastal waters and separation of spawning season and ground have been investigated. Our research team has combined biotechnology, fishery biology and otolith ecogeochemistry to study mullet in the past project, and this multidiscipline research has bring mullet knowledge from traditional fishery knowing on spawning migration behavior to new insights, including spatio-temporal species distribution on matured mullet, age composition and growth different among species, and environmental migration history of mullet in freshwater area in north Taiwan. Present project aims to continue exploring mullet population by firstly analysing otolith daily growth increment of mullet juvenile from various Taiwan estuaries for understanding recruitment dynamic and detail spawning time and apply otolith ecogeochemistry technique to understand the habitat separation of different ontogenetic stage. The project will include the three contents; 1. Analyze the yearly species composition and estuarine recruitment dynamic of the three cryptic species of mullet around Taiwan, 2. Applying laser ablation technique to investigate intra-specific early life stage differences by otolith trace elemental composition, 3. Reveal the relationship of temporal recruitment dynamic with oceanography condition."
