Description

Abstract
在無線感測網路中,防禦線覆蓋(Barrier Coverage)是一項非常重要之研究議題。然而,過往在探討防禦線覆蓋相關問題時,大多假設場景為矩形,場景邊界則因此被簡化為一條水平或者垂直的直線,忽略了在真實環境下的場景有可能為不規則形狀。舉例來說,國家領地就是一種不規則形狀的場景。這也意味,過往針對矩形場景之防禦線覆蓋相關問題所設計出之解決方法,並無法完全適用於不規則形狀之場景。在本計畫中,我們將針對不規則形狀之場景,探討以下兩種型態之防禦線覆蓋問題。議題1:探討防禦線覆蓋問題(Barrier Coverage Problem)於具有四個邊界的不規則形狀之場景、議題2:探討強化式防禦線問題(Reinforced Barrier Coverage Problem)於具有多個邊界的不規則形狀之場景。本計畫書擬提出兩年期之研究計畫,針對上述之兩個議題做探討。 The barrier coverage is an important issue in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Most of the extant studies of barrier coverage assumed that the region of interest (RoI) is in a rectangle shape. The boundary of the area is therefore simplified as a horizontal or vertical straight line, regardless of the fact that RoI in the real-world environment is likely to be an irregular shape. For example, the shape of the country territory is irregular. This also means that most of the extant studies for barrier coverage cannot be applied in irregular shape areas. There are two primary issues in this project, including (1) the barrier coverage problem in an irregular shape area with four sides, (2) the reinforced barrier coverage problem in an irregular shape area with multiple sides. This research project is expected to span two years and focus on the two issues.
