Description

Abstract
Light beams exhibit translation symmetry are so-call crystal-structure light beams. They form a variety of two-dimensional and three-dimensional periodic patterns and can be exploited to fabricate the photonic crystals for visible or near-infrared region. Moreover, optical vortex array have attracted intensive due to their various unique properties. For example, optical vortices beams possess orbital angular momentum (OAM) because of a helical wavefront. As a results, crystal-structure light beams recently attracted significant attention in a variety of fields, such as optical trapping and manipulations, interactions enabling the formation of various material structures, optical telecommunications, nonlinear interactions, and quantum physics. A typical approach is to use lasers of good coherent characteristic that permit to create periodic patterns by multi-beams interference. However, splitting a laser beam into several components of equal intensity usually requires a complicated experimental setup and suffers from low stability. Consequently, in this proposal, I will investigate the generation crystal-structure transverse patterns in diode-pumped solid-state lasers and the generation of vortex array via the experimental technique based on Fourier transform. It is believed that this research possesses not only high academic merits but also high potential for further practical applications. This project consists of the following main tasks:(1) generation crystal-structure transverse patterns via a frequency-doubling laser; (2) generation of optical crystals and quasicrystal beams: investigation of vortex array. 光晶格結構光場呈現出平移對稱性,可以得到各種二維(2D)和三維(3D)的週期性圖案,可利用來製備可見光或近紅外範圍的光子晶體,除此之外,近年來因為其獨特的特性像是光渦漩陣列帶有螺旋般相位波前,這些特性使得光晶格結構性光場成為非常多物理、化學、生物各領域研究的課題。研究光晶格結構性光場形成的原因及機制並有效率的產生,對於揭示空間結構光場與奈米結構物質相互作用的有重大的意義。過去許多研究將雷射束分成強度相同的幾個部分光束,但是通常需要復雜的實驗設置,並且穩定性較低,且具有透射率低和雷射模態劣化的缺點,所以本研究主要是利用固態雷射離軸技術與倍頻技術直接產生可見光範圍光晶格以及透過傅氏光學方法來產生,並且研究具有軌道角動量的光渦漩光束以及光渦漩陣列,研究主題包含:(1) 倍頻光晶格結構雷射之研究。(2) 光晶格與準晶格之研究:光渦漩陣列產生之研究。
