Description

Abstract
The sea surrounding Taiwan has many hot spots of marine biogeochemistry and ecosystem (e.g. Kuroshio upwelling, Taiwan bank upwelling, Penhu channel upwelling, Turtle island shallow water hydrothermal vent) formed by varied sea bottom topography and dynamics of different ocean current. In order to study the effects of human disturbances and climate change on marine biogeochemical cycling and ecosystem, a multi-year project of the long-term observation and research in the seas surrounding Taiwan is proposed since August 2018. This is the third year of the project. The main work of this multi-year project are: (1) Continuously publish existing data from the integrated projects promoted during the past; (2) Cooperation with Fisheries Research Institute (FRI), collect in-situ primary productivity and environmental data in the seas surrounding Taiwan using fishery research vessel of FRI. In the first research work, there are 13 SCI papers have been published. In the second research work, four seasonal cruises were investigated. Based on the preliminary data, we found primary production derived from satellite ocean color data was not applicable in the seas surrounding Taiwan. In the current project, we will continue to analyze samples taken from the cruises and deeply working on the mechanism of the variation of primary production in some specific marine ecosystem and try to develop applicable algorithm for the estimation of primary production in the seas surrounding Taiwan. 臺灣位於熱帶與亞熱帶氣候區,由於四周海底地形變化崎嶇以及不同尺度環流以及海氣象的季節性交互作用,引發了諸多海洋生地化與生態的特徵,因而蘊育了海洋生態多樣性與豐富的漁業資源。為建立人為擾動與氣候變遷對臺灣四周海域海洋生地化循環與生態系統影響研究的基礎,本計畫自107年度起獲科技部補助執行此多年期計畫,目前所提出的是第三年的延續計畫。本計畫主要的研究重點為:(1)持續分析過去推動整合計畫之現場觀測數據,撰寫研究成果;(2)參與農委會水產試驗所臺灣周邊漁場監測的航次,建立臺灣四周海域海洋基礎生產力與其影響因子,據以評估全球衛星海洋水色基礎生產力運算模式的適用性,以及生地化與生態相關之研究。在第(1)個研究重點方面,107年度計畫執行至今與團隊成員共發表了13篇SCI國際期刊論文,論文在各海洋相關領域期刊排名的等級(ranking)分別是7篇Q1、2篇Q2、2篇Q3、2篇Q4。在第(2)個研究重點方面,107年度計畫執行至今已完成一年四季的現場觀測航次,所有取得之樣本正在陸續地分析中,根據初步之成果已證實運用全球衛星海洋水色資料推算基礎生產力的模式,並無法適用於臺灣四周海域,最主要的誤差來自於模式中的"有光層深度內最佳之單位葉綠素基礎生產力"這個關鍵參數。今年度計畫將持續完成已取回樣本的分析,同時申請航次持續建立海洋現場觀測資料,深入瞭解臺灣四周海域各生態特徵海域的生地化循環機制。
