哲學

近年來關於苟子學及氣學思想之研究正方興未艾，對兩者之思想交涉也多所著墨，不過關於苟學與明代氣學之間的思想異同情形，則尚未有較為深入之系統專論。雖然對於人性善惡的見解不盡相同，王廷相和吳廷翰的氣學思想，其實與荀子頗有相通之處：他們在「如何使性向善」上皆主張「用智」、「積累」和「禮義之教」，並且皆重視運用知性向外積累、發展，故反對向內、向上回溯本體或返復本性的思維。此一思維正與清代氣學反對理學的思想傾向相互呼應，故本計畫旨在探明王廷相、吳廷翰與苟子學之思想關係，以期了解在主流宋明理學之外，尚有一脈荀學與明、清反理學的重要思潮。 In recent years, researches on Xunzis’ philosophy, the theory of Qi, and relationship between the two are in the ascendant. There is still not a specialized dissertation between Xunzi’s philosophy and the theory of Qi in Ming Dynasty.Wang Ting-Xiang and Wu Ting-Han were the representatives of Qi theory in Ming Dynasty, the theories which they had advocated to turn evil human nature to kindness were similar to Xunzi’s. For example, they had emphasized the mind must be calm and concentrated in order to know and use wisdom. They had also valued the importance of moral accumulation and ritual education. This research project also will discover how and why the ideological trend had been against Neo-Confucianism.
