Description

Abstract
In Taiwan, traditional classroom lectures are gradually developing into diversification, such as Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and Flipped Classroom. The classroom lectures gradually blend with social media Facebook to offer diverse community interaction channel while cultivates students’ 4C ability at the same time. Social media Facebook has been commonly applied to classroom lectures so as to provide a space for course discussions for the teacher and students. This project will conduct an experiment in the "Introduction to Computer" course at a college located in the north of Taiwan. By using the social media Facebook, teachers can practice the big6 problem solving teaching method more easily in order to enhance students’ project learning achievement. Collecting and arranging the data of students’ experimental learning procedure by our collecting and observing Facebook system allows the teachers to grasp every student’s Facebook learning conditions and results. The experimental subjects are 72 freshmen from two classes at a college located in the north of Taiwan. Both groups proceed the class materials preview, course discuss and teaching in the units of classes. We divided the experimental subjects into two groups by the difference of teaching modes. The first group is the experimental group which uses the social media Facebook combining with the big6 teaching approach. The second group does not use the social media Facebook combining with the big6 teaching approach. We will conduct the experiment of big6 teaching approach and social media Facebook on the course “Introduction to Computer" at a real college in order to observe whether there is a significant effect on students’ learning achievements between both groups. Collecting and arranging the data of experimental learning procedure from students of the experimental and control group by behavior coding and sequential analysis is done in order to explore the difference between the problem solving and discussing behavior patterns of students from both groups.
