台灣四面環海，海岸地區的生態功能與服務是極重要的天然資源，另一方面海岸帶之開發與經濟發展息息相關。人為開發往往帶來海岸帶之污染與破壞，而未來在全球暖化的影響下，海水面上升會帶來更大的海岸變遷與災害。欲解決台灣海岸帶、近岸海洋及島嶼之問題，須充分瞭解近岸海洋之物理-生地化過程與生態系之運作，以及近岸海域與民生需求及經濟發展之互動關係，以尋求台灣海岸帶永續經營的良方。本計畫針對永續科學核心計畫議題 E「海陸互動與海岸變遷計畫」之主題方向進行研究，包括下列三項主題：一、海岸帶開發之考量：現況、災害與因應；二、海岸帶之利用：遊憩、教育與維護；三、海岸帶之海洋資源與環境：評估、保育與復育。本年度研究根據主題一，對台灣河口與近海之現況進行探測分析，其中包含淡水河口物質輸送與混合研究、潮間帶二氧化碳通量量測及河川輸送至海洋之溶解性有機碳觀測，並且透過漁獲統計資料針對近岸海洋資源進行評估，根據主題二探討台灣海岸帶之功能、利用類型及開發影響，依據主題三，針對海岸資源保育與復育管理措施做探討與研究。 Taiwan is surrounded by the sea. The ecological functions in coastal areas is extremely important natural resources. The coastal zone and economic development are closely related. Human development often brings pollution and destruction and in the future under the influence of global warming, sea level rise will lead to more serious coastal changes and disasters. To solve the coastal problem in Taiwan, it is necessary to fully understand the interaction between physics, chemistry, biology of coastal ecosystems. According to the core issues from department of natural sciences and sustainable development in Taiwan, this study presents five main parts include: “a Lagrangian view of anthropogenic pollutants behaviors in Dan-shui estuary of Taiwan,” “inter-tidal carbon dioxide flux measurements in Taiwan west coast,” “characteristics of riverine dissolved organic carbon export in subtropical island, Taiwan,” “the fish catches statistics in coastal ocean in Taiwan,” and “studies on the coastal ocean resources protection and restoration.”
