社會經濟面向： 1. 考量台灣之地理氣候與地形條件，本研究以建置海岸暴潮與內陸溢淹模擬之整合模式為目標，以因應颱風期間由於海水位急遽上升以及極端降雨所引發之洪氾災害。 2. 本研究所開發之系列模組將可提供給水利相關單位，並於颱洪期間協助決策者實施防洪減災策略。學術發展面向： 1. 本研究所開發之系列分析模組包含漫地流區域之地文參數擷取、演算區域劃分程式、降雨逕流之水文量推估、近岸暴潮模擬、不同類型之二維淹水模式以及應用於渠流模擬之近似解析解。 2. 海岸溢淹整合模式可藉由模組之相互切換與彈性搭配，有效避免溢淹模擬過程中之數值發散問題，以符合即時洪氾預報所需之計算時效性與預測可靠度。
