Synmax was founded in 1990 inside Yongan Industrial Park , Taoyuan City, around 40 minutes south of the Taoyuan International Airport. The Company was initially established to developing pharmaceutical intermediates such as intermediate 7-ADCA used in B-lactam antibiotics and intermediates for cardiovascular pharmaceuticals (RHPBE, LHPE). The most significant characteristic of Synmax Biochemical’s pharmaceutical production process is replacing or combining traditional organic synthesis with enzyme conversion, allowing us to provide high quality pharmaceutical intermediates to our clients. In addition, with our experience in fermentation, we have proved our capability in scaled up fermentation, providing our clients with comprehensive services in fermentation from laboratory to commercial production. Taiwan is a mjaor hub for the global electronics industry. In 1999, Synmax Biochemical forged partnership with Nagase & Co., Ltd., one of the largest manufacturer of specialty chemicals in Japan to combine both companies’ expertise in electronic chemicals and solvents for the LCD and PCB industries. In 2008, Synmax Biochemical began the collaboration with ITRI, Taiwan’s main government research center, to develop key materials for polymer capacitors and conducting polymers. Today, Synmax is now one of the top global supplier for material to polymer capacitors.
