Abstract

Taiwan has contributed significantly on the establishment of culture technology of milkfish and its annual production has been sustained at high levels up to the present time. The challenge, however, is marketing the surplus production and at the same time, maintaining the profitability of the industry. We recommend that in order for the authority to support the milkfish industry, milkfish price should be secured through boost in demand programs, which has been shown to be more effective because of the inelastic supply of milkfish.
