Abstract

The aquaculture of shrimps played an important role in Taiwan’s aquaculture and fishery industry. It is, therefore, necessary that we discuss its operation status. A sample of 2,865 shrimp aquafarms sourced from 2010 Taiwan’s Fishery Census were used in our analysis. Ordinary least square (OLS) and Quantile regression (QR) approaches were adopted in this paper to estimate the revenue models and analyze the factors influencing shrimp farm revenue. In this study, we discovered that farmer’s age, farm size, shrimp species, and production regions influence shrimp farm revenue.
