It includes important highlights from 167 published papers/reports/chapters, broadly covering the progresses and challenges in shrimp aquaculture including:
●Preference of food by Kuruma prawn and its feeding ecology;
●Classification of economically important prawn and related physiologic and ecological research;
●Presentation of prawn research to the Asian Fisheries Forum;

The purposes of reviewing and introducing all these published papers are to systematically document historical events of shrimp/prawn-related research and development in the past, particularly in Taiwan, to help young generations of scientists and entrepreneur realize what they may achieve. This chapter hopefully will lead them to contribute to the innovation and effectiveness of a more responsible shrimp aquaculture development, appreciate the lessons and significant experiences learnt from the past.
