Prawn culture from Taiwan's experiences

Abstract

Prawn culture has been expanding rapidly in Taiwan utilizing coastal areas, providing employment and stimulating the infrastructural industries. This success can be attributed to several factors. The potential for further expansion is high. A number of problems, however, now face the prawn culture industry in Taiwan, and the favorable resolution of these problems will play a key role in the future developement of the Taiwanese prawn culture industry.
