| dc.description.abstract | The aquaculture industry of Taiwan is widely known for its innovations and break-throughs. Little is known, however, about its technology transfer experience, which began in the late 1970s. With emphasis on the socioeconomic aspects, this paper attempts to examine Taiwan's experience in aquacultural technology transfer in terms of the successes, contributing factors, constraints and opportunities. Examples of these transfers, such as the prawn culture project undertaken in the Philippines starting in 1979 and most recently, the eel culture project in Malaysia, are reviewed and discussed. | en_US |
