The school established the irrigation engineering and soil and water conservation department in the Republic of China in 1985 to cultivate agricultural irrigation and soil and water conservation professionals. After the reform of the university in 56 years, it was changed to the Department of Irrigation Engineering and the Department of Soil and Water Conservation. In the Republic of China, the two departments were merged into hydraulic engineering. Department, there are two groups of irrigation engineering and soil and water conservation; in the Republic of China, the group was abolished in 63 years, only the Department of Hydraulic Engineering. In this period, the goal of education is to train basic water conservancy engineering talents. Later, in response to the demand for senior talents in Taiwan's water resources engineering, the Institute of Water Resources was established in the Republic of China in 1973 and began to recruit postgraduate students. With the increasing attention to environmental issues in Taiwan, the Department added environmental engineering to the existing water resources engineering field in the Republic of China in 75 years, expanding the Institute into two groups for water resources and environmental engineering. In the 77th year of the Republic of China, it was renamed the Department of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering. The institute was renamed the Institute of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering. The doctoral class was established every other year (78 years). The scale is complete, the faculty lineup is gradually strong, and the integration of water begins. Courses in universities and research in the field of resources and the environment, training senior talents, and engaging in related research. To date, more than 4,000 alumni have graduated from relevant fields and contributed to solving and improving water resources and the environment in Taiwan. Both the Water Resources Engineering Group and the Environmental Engineering Group are dedicated to providing water security for human society, and inspire students to achieve social welfare through engineering and scientific means. The characteristics of the two groups are briefly described as follows: · Water Resources Engineering Group: Based on hydrology and water science, water conservancy project is the main axis, and it is covered by information computing technology. The subject area covers fluid mechanics, hydrology, open channel water power, flood disaster prevention, coastal engineering, etc. It is the goal of sustainable use of water resources in addition to water. · Environmental Engineering Group: Based on the water supply and sewage engineering and water quality treatment projects, combined with the scientific scope of waste treatment recycling and air quality monitoring, the subjects cover environmental chemistry, solid waste, water supply and sewage engineering, microbiology And water quality management, etc., to achieve the vision of safe water quality and sustainable ecological environment.
