"本研究在探討草蝦對脂肪酸質與量的需求, 甲殼類合成高度不飽和脂肪酸的能力有限,而高度不飽和脂肪酸對甲殼類的成長具有決定性的地位,已知斑節蝦的必需脂肪酸為18:3n-3, 20:5n-3和22:6n-3,淡水長臂蝦的必需脂肪酸為20:4n-6,20:5n-3,和22:6n-3,其中斑節蝦為棲息於28□ 以下的海水蝦,長臂蝦則為棲息於28~ 32□的淡水蝦,至於草蝦則為棲息於30□左右的海水蝦, 因此其對脂肪酸的需求是否有別於斑節蝦或長臂蝦?本實驗擬使用約200mg草蝦,投以含8%的2:1鱈魚肝油和玉米油所組成的油脂,再於此混合油脂中添加0.075,0.15%的Triarachidonin或 Tridocosahexaenoin或兩種脂肪酸的混合,另以8%鱈魚肝油和8%的ME-85含高量EPA和DHA之甲酯化脂肪酸), 測其活存率和增重來評估脂肪酸的質和量對草蝦成長的影響."
