本計畫的提出是與美國海軍研究署的研究計畫同步進行，而研究重點在於波浪中螺槳產生空化對於性能的影響。計畫中，影響的因素分成船舶運動以及波浪誘導速度對於螺槳性能的影響，加上波浪中船殼與螺槳交互作用對於螺槳性能的影響，其中由於船舶運動時會造成軸深以及船艉跡流變化，因此可能造成螺槳空化以及通氣的現象。我們將先假設船舶運動以及螺槳船體的交互作用兩個因素為各自獨立，可以疊加的效應，再行探討兩個因素合成後所造成的非線性現象。本年度研究將著重於自由液面對於螺槳空化的影響，以及探討波浪中螺槳空化造成的激振力與噪音。前者將應用單獨螺槳真實幾何與體積力方法模擬螺槳於不同水深時的空化狀態，並進行考慮與不考慮自由液面兩種狀況的比較，以界定自由液面對於空化的影響。在探討激振力與噪音的研究上，將分析船體與空化螺槳在波浪中互動所造成的艉跡流，由此計算空化螺槳所造成的船體激振力，以及螺槳所引發的噪音。引發噪音的計算上，則應用Lighthill與Ffowcs-Williams Hawkings兩種模式進行計算。完成以上的數值模擬，將可界定考慮螺槳的船尾跡流特性，以建立水下魚雷追蹤尾跡的研究基礎。 The proposed project will be carried out simultaneously with the project supported by Office of Naval Research, and this project will emphasize on the cavitation effects. In this project, the influence of ship motion due to wave to the propeller performance will be investigated. The influence will be divided into three different factors. The first one is the influence due to ship positions in seaway, the second one is the induced velocity due to wave itself, and the third one is the interactions between the ship hull and the propeller in wave. We will first assume that the wave effects are independent to the propeller/hull interactions, and then investigate the non-linear effects. In the proposed research, the free surface effects to the propeller cavitation, and exciting forces and noise due to propellers will be investigated. First, both the real geometry and body force model will be used to simulate the propeller cavitation at different immersion depth w/o and with free surface to identify the free surface effects to the cavitation. We will then compute the ship hull and propeller in waves considering the propeller cavitation, and the focus will be on evaluating the cavitation effects to the ship hull exciting force and propeller induced noise. We will compute the exciting forces on the ship hull and noise generated by propellers in calm water and in waves by propellers. For the acoustic computations, both Lighthill and Ffowcs-Williams Hawkings models will be used. This project integrates ship motion program, propeller cavitation boundary element method and viscous flow method to investigate the wave effects on the ship wake and propeller performance. We can then establish the research foundation of wake-homing torpedo technology.
