本計畫為兩年期研究計畫，主要研究目的為發展不同的電腦模擬模式，針對浮式單擺型波浪能轉換器進行電腦模擬分析，模擬波浪能轉換為動能與電能之過程，並評估其再生能源轉換效率，以提供工程設計時之參考依據。第一年計畫執行期間，研究單一浮式單擺型波浪能轉換器之最佳設計參數，並且在第二年計畫執行期間研究陣列型式之浮式單擺型波浪能轉換器，並綜合討論其未來可能應用發展方向。本計畫分別考慮勢能流體與不可壓縮黏性流體，分別進行電腦模擬，並針對模擬結果進行比較與討論。此外，本計畫也將開發三種不同的電腦模擬模式，分別為以廣義有限差分法為基礎之無網格法模式、開放原始碼之計算流體力學模式(WEC-Sim)以及商用計算流體力學模式(Flow-3D)，並針對模擬結果進行綜合討論與分析，研究結果可以提供未來設計浮式單擺型波浪能轉換器之參考。本計畫將選定台灣某外海區域，考慮其長期波浪與海氣象條件，討論最佳單擺外型以及單擺自動控制參數。本計畫所採用之入射波浪條件與單擺之自動控制系統將由海洋大學海洋能系統中心相關同仁之研究結果提供，因此本計畫之研究成果可以直接提供給未來台灣外海建置浮式單擺型波浪能轉換器相關設施之參考。The main objective of this project is the development of computer simulation models, which can simulate the processes of energy conversion of floating pendulum wave energy converter (FPWEC). The developed computer models can simulate the process of the energy conversion from the wave energy to the kinetic energy and the electric energy. Furthermore, the conversion efficiency of the renewable energy can be estimated from the computer simulations. The term of the proposed project is two years. The optimal parameters of a single FPWEC will be examined in this first year, while in the second year the FPWEC array will be thoroughly studied. The possible applications of the FPWEC will be also discussed during the second year of this project. In this project, two different assumptions of working fluids will be considered in the computer models. One is the potential flow and the other is the incompressible viscous fluid. The discrepancies of the simulations results by using different fluids will be detailedly discussed. In addition, three different numerical models will be developed. The first one is the meshless model for FPWEC, which is based on the generalized finite difference method. The second model is based on the open-source code CFD software (WEC-Sim), while the third model is established by using commercial CFD software (Flow-3D). The comparisons of the numerical results from these three different models will be discussed. Consequently, the concluding remarks of the comparisons of these three models would be definitely useful for the future design of FPWEC. In this project, a study site in the offshore area near Taiwan will be determined and the meteorological and wave conditions are considered in the computer models. The optimal shape of pendulum in FPWEC and the parameters of the automation control will be also studied and determined. The input data, which includes the incident wave, the system of automation control in the FPWEC, etc., will be discussed and provided from other research groups, which are led by our colleagues in National Taiwan Ocean University. Therefore, it can be expected that the outcomes of the proposed project are useful and practical to FPWEC design in the offshore area near Taiwan in the future.
