本計畫利用金屬離子與錯合物搭配質譜儀進行側流免疫試紙之訊號放大，可用來放大及檢測低濃度腫瘤標記物與病毒免疫球蛋白。學術方面，此研究探討金奈米作為質譜訊號放大的能力，並探討脈衝雷射照射下金屬團簇產生機制，能豐富現在學術界此類研究相對缺乏的窘境。社會方面，此技術能有效的將側流免疫試紙應用於疾病早期偵測以方便後續治療及防疫，有效控制疫情及防止醫療資源浪費。經濟方面，側流免疫試紙每年有57.7億美金的全球市場價值，此技術若能成功開發便能有效地打入高價值的市場環境，使學術與產業，為社會提供巨大的利益。
