Issue Date: | 1994 | Publisher: | The Third Asian Fisheries Forum | Abstract: | In May 1987, a batch of red drum (Sciaenops ocellatus) fertilized eggs was air shipped from a hatchery in Texas to Tungkang Marine Laboratory, Taiwan Fisheries Research Institute. The progeny reached 911 g at 14 months; 3535 g at 27 months; and 6104 g at 48 months. The first spontaneous spawn was recorded in a pond in September 1991. Spontaneous spawning occurred from September to April. |
