Following the procedure of the parabolic formulation using Padé [2,2] approximation of the propagation equation for water waves, the evolution equation of mild-slope equation is extended to the case of wave refraction, diffraction, and reflection for waves travelling over porous media. The model which includes wave-porous media interaction, wave reflection, wave breaking and dissipative was developed to account for wave propagation with large angle incidence in a planar beach. The validity of the model is calibrated by experimental data and in good agreement is found. Computational examples for wave propagating over permeable and impermeable elliptical shoal at different incident wave angles varying from 0° to 70° were performed. |
