It is distinguished from the 61 congeners by the following combination of characters: carapace dorsally non-carinate; abdomen without posterodorsal tooth on any somite, second to sixth abdominal somites sharply carinate dorsally; posterior margin of telson very slightly concave; and merus of first pereopod armed with 1 or 2 ventral spines. The new species is the sixth known of the genus, Pasiphaea Savigny, 1816, from the Central Pacific region. |
