A questionnaire survey for assessing these constructs was developed based on three rounds of Delphi method between fifteen experts. The survey results, which were based on a sample of 310 hotel employees, demonstrate that respondents with higher levels of disaster prevention literacy exhibited relatively higher safety performances and psychological empowerment. The results further show that psychological empowerment partially mediated the relationship between disaster prevention literacy and safety performance, indicating that hotel employees are prompted by psychological empowerment to achieve the standards of safety performance required by guests or the hotel management. |
