By means of statistical analysis, the diversity gain for these two systems is derived for both line-of-sight (LOS) and non-LOS (NLOS) channels. The theoretical results are verified by numerical simulation and experimental measurement. The GSM system always has better diversity gain (4-10 dB) than the W-CDMA system (1-4 dB) in a typical wireless channel with a K-factor from 0 to 8 dB. |
