July 1956: Official formation of the Shihmen Development Commission June 1964: Shihmen reservoir was taken over by the Taiwan Provincial Government Shihmen Reservoir Management Bureau from the Shihmen Reservoir Management Commission January 1998: The Shihmen Reservoir Management Bureau and the Tenth Construction Office of the Taiwan Provincial Water Resources Bureau are combined to form the Taiwan Provincial North Water Resources Bureau. July 1998: The title was changed to the North Water Resources Bureau of the Taiwan Provincial Water Resources Department. July 1999: The Taiwan Provincial Water Resources Department was changed to under the affiliation of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the new title became the North Water Resources Bureau of Water Resources Department, Ministry of Economic Affairs. November 1999: Due to the adjustment of authority, the services of the Tenth River Management Office of Water Resources Department, Ministry of Economic Affairs, were removed from the North Water Resources Bureau. March 2002: Official formation of The Water Resources Agency, Ministry of Economic Affairs. The title was changed to the Northern Region Water Resources Office, Water Resources Agency, Ministry of Economic Affairs.
