Description

Abstract
"空氣污染對健康的危害向來皆是世界各國所關注之議題,雖然目前已有不少流行病學的相關研究探討 兩者之間的關聯性,但本計畫企圖運用景氣循環所造成之區域間空氣污染的衝擊來衡量空氣污染對健 康損害的因果關係。透過2001 年至2014 年環保署提供約10,000 家廠商之硫氧化物、氮氧化物與揮 發性有機物的排放資料與全民健保研究資料庫進行鏈結後,我們將可利用difference-in-differences 模 型進行估計,並分別從鄉鎮與個人的角度來探討空氣污染對呼吸道相關疾病之罹病率的影響,而所得 之結果亦可作為政府未來在推估空氣汙染之損害或制定相關政策時的參考方針。""The health effect of air pollution has been a worldwide concern for a long time. Despite a growing epidemiological literature has investigated the correlation between air pollution and health outcomes, there is still little evidence on the causality between these two factors. Therefore, we set out in this project to investigate the impact of air pollution on the morbidity of air pollution related disease based on the pollution shocks induced by business cycles. We link the national health insurance data to around 10,000 firms’ emission data for sulphur oxides (SOx), nitrogen oxides (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) provided by Environmental Protection Administration as the empirical foundation and employ the difference-in-differences method for our examination of the health effect of air pollution. Our results are expected to have important implications for the implementation and enforcement of air pollution policy."
