Description

Abstract
海洋基礎生產力是食物鏈運轉以及支撐漁業資源的基礎,同時具有吸收大氣二氧化碳調節氣候的功能;然而,卻也是最易受到全球變遷作用的影響,因此海洋基礎生產力在全球變遷作用下的反應以及受影響程度,是當今國際非常重要的研究議題。臺灣四周海域在獨特的海洋環流與湧升的交互作用下,孕育了諸多生物資源豐富的天然漁場,因此瞭解全球變遷對臺灣四周海域基礎生產力的影響,是一刻不容緩的研究議題。此議題的最佳研究策略就是採取有系統的長期的觀測與研究,此策略的可行性,已可從本人自1999年8月至2018年7月期間,帶領團隊共同執行獲科技部核准補助之「東海長期觀測與研究」以及「全球變遷對西北太平洋臺灣海域海洋生物地球化學與生態系統影響之長期觀測與研究」整合計畫,促使臺灣在東海海洋科學的研究成果排名世界第一的事實,充份獲得證明。然而,至今國內尚未就臺灣四周海域海洋基礎生產力進行有系統的觀測與研究,有鑑於此,本計畫除了將持續研析過去執行「全球變遷對西北太平洋臺灣海域海洋生物地球化學與生態系統影響之長期觀測與研究」整合計畫累積之觀測資料外,也將首度與農委會水產試驗所海洋漁業組合作,使用水試一號於其執行之「臺灣周邊海域漁場環境監測計畫」中,同步進行「臺灣四周海域海洋基礎生產力的長期觀測」之先期研究。希望藉由此計畫之成果,做為未來推動全球變遷對臺灣四周海域海洋生態與生物地球化學循環影響全方位研究的基石。本計畫擬以三年時間逐步達成下列研究目標:(一) 建立臺灣四周海域海洋基礎生產力與海洋環境因子的四季變化。(二) 評估臺灣四周海域海洋基礎生產力之可支撐的漁業資源量。(三) 瞭解臺灣四周海域海洋基礎生產力與全球變遷因子的互動關係。(四) 評估衛星海洋水色資料在臺灣四周海域的適用性。(五) 發展臺灣四周海域海洋基礎生產力的運算模式。 Ocean primary production is the base of marine food web and fish production and also can absorb carbon dioxide via biological pump to moderate our climate. However, it is very sensitive under the forcing of global change. Therefore, understanding the effects of global change on marine primary production is an international key issue. Although many fruitful results were achieved from the integrated project of "Long-term Observation and Research" and "Effects of global change on ocean biogeochemistry and ecosystems in the seas surrounding Taiwan in the northwest of Pacific" during the past, however, there is still no systematic research on primary production in the seas surrounding Taiwan. Therefore, we propose a three years project to conduct long-term field observation and research of primary production in the seas surrounding Taiwan. We plan to arrive the following goals,1. Establish spatial and seasonal variation of primary production and its related environmental factors.2. Evaluate potential fish catches and the degree of overfishing.3. Understand what are the key factors that control the variation of primary production.4. Evaluate the performance of satellite ocean color data.5. Develop algorithm for the calculation of primary production.
