Description

Abstract
"Grouper (Epinephelus spp.) is an important and high-priced maricultured finfish in several Asian countries. However, outbreaks of viral disease, such as iridoviral infection have plagued larvae and juvenile groupers in the past few years. Grouper iridovirus of Taiwan (TGIV) is highly pathogenic and have been shown to cause severe economic losses in maricultured fish species in this island. Infectious diseases are the major cause of economic loss in aquaculture industry. For disease control concerns, attempts were made to clarify the effects of physical and chemical factors on inactivation of TGIV in this project. Hence, greatest impact on egg survival by successful surface disinfection will also assess."
