生物處今年度業務推動共分成 14 學門，分別為「生物學」2 學門、「農學」2 學門、和「醫學」10 學門，每一學門邀請一位學者擔任學門召集人。學門召集人之職掌為1)協助專題研究計畫申請案之推動及審查， 2) 出席國際會議、海外學人來華演講與短期科學技術指導、及延攬研究人才等申請案之審查，3) 國際合作雙邊科技合作(合作領域規劃、優先合作項目建議、人員互訪交流等)、補助國內舉辦國際學術研討會、補助團隊參與國際學術組織會議及補助跨國產學合作交流及專業人才培訓等申請案之審議，4)出席學門召集人會議，協助國科會相關業務之推展，5)協助撰寫該學門研究成果年報或協助，提供臨時性該學門相關學術資料，6)其他學門相關業務之諮詢、規劃與推動。本年度生物多樣性及長期生態學門主要推動生物多樣性行動方案中確定數個臺灣陸域生物多樣性熱點和監測地點(D1101和D2102案)，並選定應加強研究的指標性生物(D1203案)，舉辦相關會議以期能達成共識，使日後能更有效率的推動生物多樣性熱點和臺灣具指標性的生物之族群變化研究。另外亦廣泛亦擬舉辦學門規劃會議徵詢國內生物多樣性學者專家的意見，凝聚共識以利臺灣生物多樣性研究之發展。 The present project is to coordinate evaluation committees for grant applications in biodiveristy and long term ecology programs of the National Science Council. Moreover, several topics are identifies as priorities in next year to advance the biodiversity researches in Taiwan. These include the designation of terrestrial biodiversity hot spots, areas with priority for mentoring and selecting key organism that need priority studies. General meeting of local biodiversity expertise will also be arranged to obtain a general consensus on the development of biodiversity research in Taiwan.
