Description

Abstract
海底熱泉為獨特的化學合成生態極端環境,是目前國際上熱門的研究主題,台灣難得亦有海底熱泉的發現,尤其是宜蘭外海龜山島深、淺海熱泉都有分佈,並位於傳統漁場內,是研究海底熱泉生態及其如何影響鄰近一般海域生物甚至漁場的生產力很好的議題。本計畫擬繼續申請人近年對龜山島海底熱泉的研究,進一步深入調查龜山島深、淺海熱泉與鄰近地區生物之營養階層關係,包括開創國內深海ROV的研究調查,以究明熱泉如何影響鄰近海域生態的食物鏈,將分別在淺海和深海熱泉及其周邊海域進行不同梯度距離的採樣,之後利用穩定同位素對熱泉特有生物與周邊生物進行營養階層的分析,所得結果除能更深入了解台灣難得具有的化學合成生態系統外,亦可用作推估未來海洋環境變化時海洋生物的演化適應。 The present study investigates the trophic relationships of the hydrothermal vent ecosystem and adjacent areas off the Kueishan Island, in order to understand the effect of hydrothermal vents on the surrounding marine ecosystems. Samplings will be conducted with a gradient of distances from vents, including the usage of deep-sea ROV. The obtained samples will be analyzed by stable isotopes to elucidate the trophic levels amongst the organisms in vents and in surrounding environments. The obtained results will contributed to a better understanding of this unique chemosynthetic marine ecosystem in Taiwan and can be used to evaluate the adaptations and evolution of marine organism in response to future ocean changes.
