Description

Abstract
雨傘旗魚是大洋生態系重要的頂級掠食者,也是商業性鮪延繩釣或休閒漁業主要漁獲對象之一, 然而大西洋雨傘旗魚族群動態與資源相關訊息十分缺乏,導致過往研究在建構其資源豐度指標時, 常忽略本魚種對於棲地環境利用之影響,使得資源量常有被低估的潛在情形發生。因此本計畫預計 蒐集彙整混合座標模式(HYCOM)分層水溫資料及其他海洋環境因子包括混合層深度、葉綠素濃度、海 高距平值等大尺度水文參數,對應大西洋台灣遠洋鮪釣高解析度之周別1 度漁獲資料,以估計雨傘 旗魚棲地適合度指數並建構棲地分布經驗模式,同時比較台灣遠洋鮪釣漁業不同目標魚種之作業深 度,以準確估計雨傘旗魚有效漁獲努力量。本研究同時比較棲地適合度模式與傳統泛線性模式所建 構資源豐度指標在結果之差異,並探討棲地適合度用於評估資源變動指標之可行性,釐清棲地空間 分布與垂直利用對雨傘旗魚豐度指標估計之影響,以提供往後此資源評估所需之基礎資料,本研究 成果有助於雨傘旗魚資源保育利用及大西洋台灣鮪釣漁業管理與永續發展。Sailfish, as an important apex predator in pelagic ecosystems, is a commercially important resource for tuna longline and recreational fisheries. However, essential information is insufficient for population dynamics and stock status of the species. The abundance index of sailfish may be under estimated potentially due to the development of abundance index that ignores the spatial distribution and habitat uses for pelagic species in past research. Temperature data at various layers from the hybrid coordinate ocean model (HYCOM) and other oceanographic parameters including mixing layer depth, chllorophyll-a concentration and sea height anomaly were collected in this study. High resolution fishery data on weekly 1-degree for the Taiwanese distant-water tuna longline fishery in the Atlantic Ocean were aggregated and used to estimate habitat suitability indices of sailfish, and then an empirical model of habitat suitability of sailfish will be developed. With the information of gear structure and fishing depth of the hook for the fishery that targets two different tuna species incorporated, the effective fishing effort for sailfish could be estimated correctly based on the model developed. In addition, the results from the analysis that incorporates habitat suitability and those based on traditional statistical generalized linear models will be compared, to examine and identify the feasibility and potential impacts that the abundance index is developed without information on vertical uses of habitats. Results from this study could be used as basic input data for future stock assessment of sailfish, as well as the recovery and sustainable uses of the stock and the management of the longline fishery in the Atlantic Ocean.
