石斑為台灣水產養殖的重要魚種之ㄧ。近年來由於病毒性疾病的暴發，造成石斑產量的降低。養殖生物通常因為封閉式的接觸，而造成一旦發生感染就會造成疾病快速的傳播。因此養殖石斑的病毒性及流行性疾病需要立即的進行研究，有效監控並保護產業避免受到疾病的迫害，造成經濟的損失。本研究針對台灣地區養殖石斑的病毒性疾病進行監控，提供給獸醫與養殖從業人員目前病毒性傳染病之相關資料，對疾病作出快速的判斷及處理，降低因疾病爆發而造成大量死亡的機率。研究結果期以可減少養殖過程的損失，降低所需的生產成本，以提高台灣水產養殖之競爭力。 Grouper is one of important aquaculture species in Taiwan. In recent year the increased prevalence of diseases has significantly reduced grouper production.Infections of aquaculture species by bacteria and viruses are specially serious because the animals are usually in close contact, so infectious spread rapidly. Therefore, the grouper viral disease and epidemiology of aquacultured grouper are urgent need to investigate for the monitoring and preventing the problem of the disease. The outcome from present viral epidemic study will not only help veterinarian and aquaculturists to monitor major viral disease in grouper, but also help to establish alert system and the strategies and activities for prevention and reducing mortality of grouper disease . The outcome not only can help reduce lost and would lower production costs, but also can promote Taiwan aquaculture competitive.
