本計畫係交通部運輸研究所配合金門水頭商港與九宮碼頭陸續完工啟用，為提昇金門地區海域之航行及遊憩安全，配合已經建置及執行之臺灣近海海象預報系統(Taicoms)，以及海氣象觀測系統的配置，建立金門水域海象系統，以提供即時之海象預報資訊。該系統之目標係提供金門地區水域之波浪及潮流之預報，並配合現場之即時波潮流觀測系統之資料整理與發佈，將可提供當地從事海上航行或海上活動之參考，進而提升其安全與預警效能。本計畫為期九個月，其工作項目包含金門水域之風波及潮流預報系統之初步建立與測試、以及有關風波模式改善之研究，包含推算風場之改善、數值地形之校驗與湧浪分析技術之引進。 Follow up the accomplishment of Shuitou port and Jiugung Port in Kinmen, Institute of Transportation, Ministry of Transportation plans to establish a forecast system about wave and tidal current conditions and a field observation system around Kinmen water zone to enhance the safety of marine transportations and costal recreation, and the long term target is to merged the system into the operational TaiCOMS system in the future. The major works of the nine months project include the primeval constructions of wave forecast system and tidal current forecast system, and the improvements of their qualities, such as the improvement of wind fields and the verification of digital bathymetry for prediction, and the storm surge wave analysis.
