Description

Abstract
"本計畫第一年將分析 2009年 4-7月美國研究船(R/V Marcus Langseth)在臺灣與菲律 賓海之間收集之 MGL0905-27(11 站)、MGL0908-01(12 站)與 MGL0908-05(12 站) 海底地震儀震測水平分量資料,配合已完成的地殼 P 波速度模型建立地殼 S 波速 度模型。第二年將分析跨越琉球隱沒帶、花東海盆、加瓜海脊以及西菲律賓海盆的 T4、T5、T6 測線長支距反射震測與海底地震儀垂直及水壓分量資料建立地殼 P 波 速度模型。第三年則分析 T4、T5、T6 海底地震儀水平分量資料,搭配地殼 P 波速 度模型建立地殼 S 波速度模型。本研究建立的地殼 P 波速度構造可探討南海北部 海陸過渡帶地殼演化、菲律賓海板塊破裂構造以及隱沒板塊與上覆板塊的地震與岩 漿活動等。另一方面,地殼泊松比(P 波與 S 波速度比值)異常可探討臺灣與菲律賓 之間海域地體構造與琉球隱沒帶,岩層斷層帶與地殼碰撞造成的破裂帶、岩漿、流 體分佈等。結合地殼 P 波速度與泊松比構造,可以瞭解馬尼拉隱沒帶以及琉球隱 沒帶的地體構造,探討孕震機制與岩漿分佈情形,並評估海嘯發生的可能性。" "In the first year of this project, horizontal components of ocean-bottom seismometer (OBS) data collected along MGL0905-27 (11 stations), MGL0908-01 (12 stations) and MGL0908-05 (12 stations)by R/V Marcus Langseth during April-July of 2009 will be analyzed to build crustal S-wave velocity models from the crustal P-wave velocity models between Taiwan and Philipine Sea. In the second year of the project, we will construct P-wave velocity models from long-offset reflection data, vertical and hydrophone components of OBS data along T4, T5 and T6 across the Ryukyu subduction zone, Huatung Basin, Gagua Ridge and West Philippine Basin. In the third year, we will continuously analyze horizontal components of OBS data along T4, T5 and T6 and build crustal S-wave velocity models from crustal P-wave velocity models. Crustal P-wave velocity models can lead us to investigate the evolution of the continent-ocean transition in the northern SCS, the fracture structures of the PSP, earthquakes and volcanism of the subducting and overriding plates. Besides, anomaly of crustal Poisson’s ratio will be used to characterize the tectonic structures, such as fault belts, fracture zones, magma and fluid distribution, between Taiwan and Philippine Sea and in the Ryukyu subduction zone. Integration of crustal structures about P-wave velocity and Poisson’s ratio can let us understand more about tectonic structures, and evaluate the seismogenic mechanism, the magma distribution and the possibility of tsunami in the Manila subduction zone and the Ryukyu subduction zone."
