Description

Abstract
"This study accumulated the results of 5-year field investigations from the south west Central Mountain Range in Pingtung (across the diagenetic to anchi zone region ) to research the plentiful and widespread fibrous quartz veins. Many well formed fibrous quartz specimens have the Fluid Inclusions Assemblage (FIA), which composed of the primary and pseudo-secondary fluid inclusions in the crystals. This FIA feature is considered as isostructure stage during quartz growing, and is different from those second inclusions with healing and recrystallization after quartz growth. The fluid inclusions can verify a special event and environment. By comparing with the previous studies and the information of the occurrences, they show that this kind of quartz vein grew in the uplifting mountain ranges. The famous localities like the Alps mountain range in Europe, the Himalaya mountain range in Asia and the Atlas mountain range in the northern Africa...etc. Some of the most earlier and important research has been published by the European specialists. They investigated the fibrous quartz veins and figured out the crystal growth model related to the development of structure. Finally, some research used this method to model the last continental collision history across the Alps mountain ranges. This research will focus on the primary and secondary fluid inclusions of the quartz occurring in the Central Mountain Range, Pingtung. To quantify and determine the homogenous and freezing temperatures of the fluid inclusions in quartz. Then, we will analyze the isotope data and age dating of the intergrowth minerals . After integrating the regional structure features and the developed model of quartz vein, we can discuss the regional fluids and tectonic evolutions during the last mountain building stage."
